Devastator

Can someone tell me why Transformer toys are so maddening? Is it because I'm missing some male gene that is needed to reconfigure Transformers after a child has disassembled them? I was attempting to reconstruct Devastator this morning and came very close to handing him off to Alfie, our labradoodle, in the hopes she could help. After all, she is a mix of the smartest dog breeds, and I am certain I saw a definite look of interest on her face when I offered him up to her.

Unfortunately, Devastator did not get put back together this morning, and he is still lying in five nice pieces by the damaged instruction sheet that didn't quite make it through Christmas morning which poses an additional hardship for me...I'll keep trying, however, while listening to my five-year-old hurry me along with "just give it to me, mom, I can do it,..." which is likely the most motivating sound I hear and ultimately what keeps Devastator out of the paws of our labradoodle!

Concert

Last night I headed off to Tulsa with my mom and Jessica to see LeeAnn Womack, Reba and George Strait in concert at The BOK Center. It was a great time! LeeAnn began with a 30 minute performance followed by Reba at 1.5 hours and George at 2 hours. With a price of $105 a ticket, I do feel like we got our money's worth even if we were at the very top of the arena. Which by the way leads me to another topic...someone should figure out a way to keep so many resellers from from keeping real fans from purchasing the good seats at a decent price. The concert sold out in about an hour, and it took me and Jessica 50 minutes from two computers and four phones to secure our seats at the tip/top of the arena. And, immediately after purchasing our tickets to the sold out event, I can't tell you the number of tickets that were already on sell at other sites at double the price. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about capitalism, but not when it affects my concerts!!

My First Blog

Wow...who knew creating a blog was so easy?! I've been toying with the idea of doing this for several months now, but I've always had the nagging question of "what in the world will I write about?" Friends have suggested a number of topics to me, including mommyhood and the funny, funny stories that we constantly hear from our two little ones; being a working mother continually seeking balance in a crazy professional world; any one of our five animals (not counting our fish); as well as my all time favorite which would make for a great sitcom if The Office hadn't already been created! So, after much consideration and deep thought, I think I'll include all the above topics into my blogging efforts. Maybe, just maybe, my life experiences will help someone else's life run a bit smoother or at the least bring a smile to those who drop by to see what's going on in my part of the world. Enjoy!
